Arquitetura modular evolutiva aplicada à tipologia de Hostel

Abstract

A presente investigação, surge da perceção da necessidade de encontrar soluções construtivas de materialidade, capacidade plástica e adaptativa, capazes de responder de modo eficiente às necessidades de alojamento emergentes que se deparam atualmente às sociedades ocidentais contemporâneas. Assim, pretende-se explorar o potencial dos sistemas modulares com capacidade evolutiva e testar uma solução construtiva adaptada às características próprias de um Hostel a edificar num vazio urbano, sito na Rua do Colégio, inserido na malha urbana consolidada de Portimão, e inserido na ARU de Portimão. O projeto propõe um estudo para um Hostel modular evolutivo a construir em 2 fases. A primeira fase, propõe a construção das áreas que suportam todas as valências definitivas essenciais para a operacionalidade do equipamento (receção, zona social, cafetaria, instalações sanitárias e acessos aos pisos superiores) e de um número de quartos inicial. A segunda fase construtiva, propõe uma expansão vertical do equipamento com o aumento do número de quartos. Devido aos constrangimentos de acesso ao lote, optou-se por um sistema construtivo ortogonal que se suporta em duas estruturas metálicas. Uma estrutura primária que suporta todo o esqueleto do edifício, e uma segunda estrutura (estrutura secundária) que define a orgânica modular da construção e que permite a evolutividade do sistema construtivo definido por duas tipologias; Modulo A e módulo B. A encerrar os módulos optou-se paramentos ventilados encerrados por painéis pré fabricados, protegidos pelo exterior por placas cimentícias, sendo acopláveis por meio de elementos de madeira pré-fabricados que possibilitam a sua conexão sucessiva. A tipologia dos Hosteis, apresentam de forma recorrente uma morfologia ortogonal rígida e repetitiva, onde se destaca o módulo, autónomo, mas com capacidade de interagir com outro modulo igual ou semelhante independentemente da materialidade construtiva. Essa constatação, levou à curiosidade de explorar um sistema modular que facilitasse e acelera-se o processo construtivo sem descurar o desempenho evolutivo do equipamento.

The present research arises from the perception of the need to find constructive solutions of materiality, plastic and adaptive capacity, capable of responding efficiently to the emerging housing needs that are currently faced by contemporary Western societies. Thus, it is intended to explore the potential of modular systems with evolutionary capacity and to test a constructive solution adapted to the characteristics of a Hostel to be built in an urban void, located in Rua do Colégio, inserted in the consolidated urban plot of Portimão, and inserted in the ARU of Portimão. The project proposes a study for an evolutionary modular Hostel to be built in 2 phases. The first phase proposes the construction of areas that support all the definitive valences essential for the operability of the equipment (reception, social area, coffee shop, sanitary facilities and access to the upper floors) and an initial number of rooms. The second construction phase proposes a vertical expansion of the equipment with an increase in the number of rooms. Due to the constraints of access to the plot, an orthogonal construction system was chosen that is supported by two steel structures. A primary structure that supports the entire skeleton of the building, and a second steel structure (secondary structure) that defines the modular structure of the construction and allows the evolution of the construction system and is characterized by two typologies; Module A and module B. To close the modules, ventilated walls were chosen enclosed by prefabricated panels, protected from the outside by cement plates, being attachable by means of prefabricated wooden elements that allow their successive connection. The typology of the Hostels recurrently presents a rigid and repetitive orthogonal morphology, where the module stands out, autonomous, but with the ability to interact with another identical or similar module regardless of the constructive materiality. This realization led to the curiosity to explore a modular system that would facilitate and accelerate the construction process without neglecting the evolutionary performance of the equipment.
