Reabilitação do Convento de São Francisco, Portimão : alojamento turístico de charme

Abstract

A presente dissertação centra-se no desenvolvimento de um projecto de reabilitação e reconversão para o Convento de S. Francisco em Portimão. O convento é um edifício do século XVI no qual se pretende introduzir um novo programa e articular o existente com duas novas volumetrias que estabeleça um diálogo com o edifício original, adaptando-o a uma pousada de charme criando uma relação com o turismo no centro urbano da cidade de Portimão. A intervenção no convento implica uma restruturação urbana no local e a criação de novos acessos, que pretendem contextualizar e optimizar a relação com o porto marítimo (ponto de paragem das rotas dos cruzeiros), a marina, a zona ribeirinha, as praias e a serra algarvia.

This dissertation focuses on the development of a project for the rehabilitation and conversion of the Convent of S. Francisco in Portimão. This convent is a sixteenth century building, which aims to harmonize to a new rehabilitation and articulate with a new volumetry entering into the line of the existing building with the aim of adapting the convent building in a charming inn and highlighting its importance in the relationship with tourism in the city center. The intervention works in this convent implies an urban restructuring on site and the creation of new accesses, resulting as a solution in order to contextualization the relationship with the sea port (mooring of the cruise ships), the marina, the waterfront, the beaches and the Algarvian mountains.
