Arquitetura para crianças : caso de estudo: jardim-de-infância “os cubos”, Portimão

Abstract

O conceito de Criança têm vindo a sofrer alterações ao longo dos tempos, contudo a infância só começa a ter um maior destaque a partir dos séculos XVII e XVIII. Até á data não existiam muitas instituições que se dedicassem à criança e muitas delas foram exploradas em fábricas, aquando da Revolução Industrial no século XIX, e outras simplesmente eram deixadas ao abandono durante o dia enquanto os pais tinham de trabalhar. O primeiro jardim-de-infância surge pelas mão de Friedrich Froebel (1782-1852), apesar de existirem outras intuições anteriores a esta que se dedicavam às crianças, como escolas ou casas de acolhimento. Hoje em dia a preocupação para com a criança é relevante. O amplo estudo e pesquisa sobre a psicologia da criança e o seu o seu desenvolvimento demonstram este facto. Os projetos de arquitetura igualmente, em especial os jardins-de-infância, também estão direcionados para beneficiar, com os desenhos dos seus espaços arquitetónicos, a aprendizagem destes pequenos e frágeis seres humanos. A presente dissertação apresenta um estudo teórico acerca da criança e do jardimde- infância e é finalizada com a elaboração de uma proposta de arquitetura. Dentro desta análise um breve resumo de estudos sobre psicologia infantil ajuda a caracterizar a criança para que seja possível desenvolver os critérios do desenho de um jardim-de-infância. A investigação e análise de outros infantários, tanto nacionais como internacionais, e a compreensão das normas portugueses auxiliam na conceção do conceito para o projeto apresentado neste trabalho, na cidade de Portimão. O projeto proposto pretende dar resposta à relação entre arquitetura e psicologia infantil, criando um espaço agradável à criança, gerando conforto, segurança e bem-estar, e um sítio onde a criança queira permanecer e brincar ao longo do dia enquanto aprende.

The concept of the childhood have been changing over the time, however it only starts having a greater prominence on the 17th and 18th centuries. There were not many institutions dedicated to children and while the majority exploited in factories, at the time of the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century, and others simply were left abandoned during the day while their parents had to work. The first kindergarten appears by the hand of Friedrich Froebel (1782-1852), although there are other previous intuitions dedicated to children, as schools or host homes. Nowadays the concern for with children is relevant. The study and the research about psychology of the child and his/her development demonstrate this fact. The architectural projects also prove it, especially the kindergartens, which are also aimed to benefit, with their architectural spaces, the learning process of these small and fragile human beings. This work presents a theoretical study about children and kindergartens and it is completed with the development of an architecture proposal. Within this review, a brief summary of studies about child psychology helps to characterize the architectural space in order to develop the design criteria of a kindergarten. The investigation and analysis of other case studies, both national and international, and the understanding of Portuguese laws assist in the development of the design for the project architectural presented in this research, in the city of Portimão. The proposed project aims to respond to the relationship between architecture and child psychology, creating an adequate space for children, providing comfort, and a place where they want to stay and play during the day while learning.
